Marine Stingers

During the summer months, Marine Stingers can be found in the waters of North Queensland. These are extremely dangerous creatures and swimming during summer should only be undertaken in Stinger Nets. Mission Beach has two large Stinger Nets. These nets were developed by James Cook University specifically to enable us to enjoy our waters during the hot summer months.
